Updating the bundled plugins

Update WPBakery Page Builder and Slider Revolution when a Goodnews release includes a new version.

WPBakery Page Builder and Slider Revolution are bundled with Goodnews rather than distributed through the WordPress plugin directory, so WordPress cannot check for their updates on its own. A new version of either plugin arrives inside a new Goodnews release.

Updating a bundled plugin

  1. Update Goodnews itself first — see Updating Goodnews. The new plugin version is inside the new theme package.
  2. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  3. Deactivate the plugin you want to update.
  4. Delete it.
  5. Go to Appearance → Install Plugins and install it again — this installs the version that shipped with your current Goodnews version.
  6. Activate it.
